Privacy policy

YASE's single purpose is to help users search and organize their saved YouTube videos locally in the browser. Supporting features such as tags, notes, visible page tools, customization settings, and optional dislike context remain tied to that browser-side workflow and do not give the YASE server access to your YouTube library.

Last updated: 2026-05-29

Short version

YASE processes the metadata needed for its features locally and does not upload your YouTube library to a YASE server.

YASE does not sell user data, use user data for advertising, or collect hidden product telemetry.

Data stored locally in your browser

  • Saved-video metadata needed for supported search, organization, and browser-side YouTube enhancement features.
  • Local index state, tags, notes, saved searches, feature settings, customization settings, and sync progress.
  • Diagnostics or support bundles only when you explicitly export them; they must be anonymized before support use.

Note: removing the extension or clearing browser data also removes this local YASE state.

Data handled by the YASE server

  • Your YASE account identity, sessions, devices, and entitlement state.
  • If you submit the launch notification form: your email address and the browser target you picked.

The YASE server does not store your Watch Later list, liked videos, playlist contents, tags, notes, YouTube cookies, or any YouTube account state.

Google Sign-In and OAuth scopes

Google Sign-In is used only to create or access your YASE product account, manage sessions and devices, and verify entitlement. It is not used to read your YouTube account or to access YouTube API data.

Scopes used: openid, email, profile. YASE does not request YouTube API scopes and does not have read or write access to your YouTube account or watch history through Google APIs.

Limited Use

YASE's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy and the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Third parties

YASE relies on the following external services. None of them receive your YouTube account state.

  • Google Sign-In verifies your identity when you sign into your YASE account.
  • Resend delivers the one-shot launch notification email if you sign up for it. Open tracking and click tracking are disabled.
  • Cloudflare Turnstile runs an anti-abuse check on the notify form, after you interact with the form.
  • Return YouTube Dislike provides estimated dislike counts when the optional dislike-badge feature is enabled.
  • Fontsource and jsDelivr may serve declarative font catalog data and font files for customization features. No remote JavaScript or WebAssembly is fetched or executed.

The notify list is not a newsletter, is not used for advertising, and is not used for product analytics. You can unsubscribe from any launch email at any time.

Deletion and export

You can remove local YASE data by uninstalling the extension or clearing its browser storage. Local browser deletion is controlled by your browser.

To request account deletion after uninstalling the extension, email delete@yase.run from the registered email address or include your YASE user ID.

Deletion requests are processed within 30 days unless retention is required for security, abuse prevention, or legal obligations.
